Aberlour 16 Year Double Cask Matured

Delicious, better than dessert! Certainly sweet and mellow but well structured. We shared a bottle among several people with different interests and everyone loved it. Perhaps, that’s the only fault, to be a bit of a crowd-pleaser?

Good but I expected more. I was hoping it would be a little smoother and more complex. I’ve read such great things about the 43% ABV version. While good, this was disappointing for a 16y Aberlour.

If I wanted bourbon, I would've asked for bourbon. This was probably the worst tasting single malt I've ever had; especially due to the fact it's supposedly aged 16. It's harsh, not smooth in the least bit and just an all-around not enjoyable whiskey.

Peaty nose without peaty finish. Nice scotch for a non-scotch drinker.

Dark color, melon nose, butterscotch, chocolate
