Distinctive peat on the nose but not overpowering so you pick up lighter notes too of vanilla and dried hay.
The pallet continues from the nose as a liquid campfire of wood and hay. Peaty but a dry inland peat like in peated highland scotch. Subtle sweet notes of vanilla and caramel.
It's slightly better than the sea cask because it's has a richer taste and longer finish, but that could be personal preference. I think this is unparalelled in richness and taste for it's price.
