AGUARDENTE CARIBÉ AMBURANA

600 kilometers from the capital Belo Horizonte is one of Minas Gerais' jewels that borders the São Francisco River. With almost 70 thousand inhabitants, the city of Januária is proud to have the only Pantanal in the state and is currently seeking UNESCO recognition for the Peruaçu National Park as a World Heritage Site and home to the largest stalactite in the world. In addition to all these natural beauties, the city of Januária is known for being the birthplace of Aguardente Caribé. The history of Caribé is intertwined with the history of the city of Januária. The drink has been produced, bottled and stored in Amburana barrels for 75 years. The soil suitable for the production of sugar cane, combined with the climate, makes the northern region of Minas Gerais ideal for the product. The success of Caribé over all these years goes beyond borders, taking the name Januária not only to other Brazilian states but even to other countries. Caribé is a drink aged in amburana barrels, a typically Brazilian wood. Robust, it has an alcohol content of 48%, which is not noticeable in the mouth because the alcohol is very well integrated. The spirit is very balanced and the distillate is purchased from local producers, registered for over twenty years and who have proven that they maintain the same quality standard.
