All Alberta Premium whiskies are made with a 100% Canadian prairie rye mashed in Rocky Mountain water. It’s this combination that has made the distillery one of the biggest producers of rye in the world. In the fall of 2019, the distillery surprised rye fans by releasing a cask strength expression simply pulling uncut rye from their charred barrels.

Tasting Notes
"This cask strength rye starts by electrocuting the palate with rich rye spices that build with the heat of chili pepper. Toasted cereal, mild solvents and banana custard connect on the nose with a tight oak structure that hits the palate with a flash. Sweet and dark fruits shift to a dry finish of cinnamon and cocoa powder accented with loads of cracked rye grain. Adding water uncovers layers and softens the face-melting rye spice. "
