Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur
Herbal/Spice Liqueurs
Ancho Reyes // Mexico
Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur is made in a similar manner to the Ancho Reyes’ original ancho chile liqueur, with a few key differences: Instead of allowing the poblano peppers to ripen and sun dry, the poblano peppers for Ancho Reyes Verde are picked while they are still green.
Some of those peppers are then fire roasted and all of the peppers are mashed before the maceration process begins.

Herbal/Spice LiqueursHerbal and/or spiced liqueurs make up a bulk of the liqueur family. Oftentimes the recipe or formula is top secret and decades if not centuries old and were created for “medicinal purposes.” Any type of liquor can form the base. Sugar is added prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes
"Right off the bat, it’s notable how different this second release from Ancho Reyes is to the original ancho chile liqueur. The nose starts off bright, briny and vegetal, with hints of raisin. The palate reveals more vegetal richness with a touch of smoke, alongside a slow burn of spice, grilled pineapple and lime. Thanks to its bright punch and rich undertones, Ancho Reyes Verde lends itself to cocktails in want of mild spice and bright, vegetal notes."
