Peated Single Malt
anCnoc // Highlands, Scotland
Named after the storing process of the peat blocks which are stacked to dry just prior to use. Stack is a peated whisky from the anCnoc distillery, which is usually known for its non-smoky expressions. This particular bottle has been aged in ex-bourbon casks for at least ten years (even though it's a non-age statement) with a phenol level of 20ppm making it the peatiest expression from anCnoc so far. Note: Note available in the US.
Peated Single Malt100% malted barley from a single distillery. Dried with peat.
"Vanilla and smoke are the two front-liners on the nose, along with a citrusy influence that tends to get stronger over time. It's briny also. The palate is even creamier and even more appetizing than the nose with lemon tart, syrupy vanilla, and oak spices. The earthiness also makes its apparition, with a nice peatiness lingering on the background, never too strong. The finish is short and peppery, with a nice maltiness in the end."
