Reviewed January 21, 2022 (edited January 23, 2022)Peat was a maltman. One day he shoveled too much peat into the kiln. With smoke blowing out of the pagodas, the distillery manager shouted. “FOR PEAT’S SAKE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THERES SMOKE EVERYWHERE”. This is a Blended Scotch , intensely smoky and peaty with an earthly full-bodied flavor. Very smoky on the nose, but doesn’t hold into the palate! Closest thing I can compare it to is The Famous Grouse Smoky Black.23.0 EUR per BottleVisby -

Reviewed January 3, 2022 (edited May 6, 2023)Firstly, I have bias towards this blend due to being from a small scotch blending company. Secondly, it is a very accessible blend in price and stock through wine and spirits merchants. The downside is that the source of the whisky is practically unknown. However, the presentation is somewhat appealing. The name “For Peat’s Sake” is interesting and the label evokes Scottish imagery. It will stand out in the cabinet. Now, the nose is typical of a scotch blend that is strong in Speyside whisky. It is honey/ butterscotch forward. The smoke from the peat shares the same domain as the other scents. It is not an Islay , but the peat smoke is agreeable. The taste is equal to the nose. That is good because it is in no way deceptive. The honey and malty taste come first and are followed by the delicious peat flavor. The peat flavor is smoky like barbecue. The finish is comparable to eating St. Louis bbq ribs. It leaves a pleasant smoky and honey taste. In conclusion, this whisky is a good bargain. It is an everyday sipper. It could also be used for mixing and sharing without guilt. It pairs well with smoky meats and burgers. I recommend it for the smoky profile and the price. If you have access to “For Peat’s Sake”, reach for the bottle. You won’t regret it.17.0 USD per Bottle -
