Nose: immediately hit with peat smoke and iodine, sea salt and acidic soil
Taste: starts very salty then transitions to the medicinal flavor while your mouth fills with smoke. Smoke is more of an ash or cigar flavor. Very earthy and peppery with faint notes of lemon
Finish: smooth and short, with the salty flavors staying the longest.
This reminds me more of Laga 16, with much less pepper flavor.
This is a campfire in a glass. A salty, peat fire nose. Heavy oil, peat, and smoke meet you on the first sip with a spicy mouth-watering exhale. A peppery, peaty, leathery, tobacco finish leaves no doubt that this is what islay scotch should taste like.
Although this bottle only costs 55 USD, it should be worth well more for the complexity of heavy flavors. Lesser scotches go for substially more.
