Full disclosure, this is a perfectly fine scotch if you love the Islay flair. I tend to avoid Islay in general, a bit too heavy on the smoke, peat, and medicinal burn for my liking.

Had this back to back with Laphroaig 10. In comparison this was a more meaty barbecue like smoke.
Very smooth and drinkable despite being a complex big flavor.
Peppery and citrus-sweet on the nose, with smoke and sea water. Tastes first of figs, chocolate and ginger, then a hot blast of peat that lasts awhile, but settles into salty, meaty flavor, the after taste of chocolate chip cookies, and a lingering post-cigar taste. Noice. I’ve enjoyed every Ardbeg I’ve had so far. Love it.
