Smoke and peat monster - which I do appreciate. But there is a slight iodine harshness to this scotch; it certainly isn't as smooth as the Laphroaig Quarter Cask against which I am comparing it. But an intoxicating hint of peat and smoke all the same.

A peaty delight. Some honey undertones but that big beautiful peaty smoke is at the forefront. Very impressed given that this is the entry level Ardbeg offering.
