Armorik Classic Single Malt

I will not use the usual nose / palate / finish division, but this product once again makes me understand how only those countries that have a tradition that goes back in time can ultimately produce a product that can be defined as real whisky or whiskey, a regardless of the procedure, and therefore of the name, which can then be more or less the same. The French produce super and excellent wines and spirits, they have not managed (at least with this product) to repeat themselves with whiskys. A mixture of flavors and smells ranging from honey to saline and perhaps to peat (it is not clear), not particularly well blended with each other. While I appreciated the Italian Puni aged in Marsala barrels, perhaps for a bit of a nationalistic spirit, I admit that here I have not even finished the mignon that I had taken out of pure curiosity. Rating 1.0 _______________________________________________________ Non userò la solita spartizione naso/palato/finale, ma questo prodotto ancora una volta mi fa capire come solo quei paesi che hanno una tradizione che si perde indietro nel tempo alla fine possano produrre un prodotto che si possa definire vero whisky o whiskey, a prescindere dal procedimento, e quindi dal nome, che poi può essere più o meno lo stesso. I francesi producono dei super ed eccellenti vini e spiriti, non sono riusciti (almeno con questo prodotto) a ripetersi con i whisky. Un misto di sapori ed odori che spaziano dal miele al salino e forse alla torba (non si capisce bene), non particolarmente ben amalgamati tra loro. Mentre non mi era per niente dispiaciuto il Puni italiano invecchiato in botti di marsala, forse per un po’ di spirito nazionalistico, ammetto che qui non ho nemmeno finito il mignon che avevo preso per pura curiosità. Not bad

Clear and clean, nose of apricot and fruits, mouth with light banana and "fruits confits". Young and smooth.

Simple en bourbon

Almonds and licorice greet the nose, accompanied by a clear cereal and biscuit component. Dried apricots, orange zest, Williams pears and the fruity side is served. In the background, a slight peaty impression. Beautiful debut, sweet and mineral, the winds on the Breton sea did a good job. And the peat sensation is amplified on the palate, mineral and smoky, flanking and thickening the flavor of the whisky, with still licorice and dried fruit, orange, chocolate, cereals. Spicy and peppery touch. Three-dimensional, young but not too much. Fairly long finish of ash, hazelnuts, cereals, with salt and pepper on the lips. I admit it, I had approached this whisky with few expectations and it really surprised me: not at all banal, full, fun, multifaceted. Being the business card of their whiskeys, this Armorik makes you want to try all the others!
