Auchentoshan Three Wood

opened in 1800, this expression spends 10 years in bourbon casks, 1 year each in oloroso and px casks nose: sherry, acrid, dried fruit, floral palate: viscous, balsamic, fig, chocolate, nuts, sherry finish: short, mint plums and nuts

What did I just taste?! Not a hint of smoke to be found but the nose makes you think this is infused with aromatics and the finish is clean as can be! But the true experience is at first palate impact when bright vanilla and wood gives way to the sherry and caramel with a touch of nutmeg and allspice! I’m impressed!

Extremely woody. Perfumy. Balsa wood smell, deep oak flavor.

A tad on the sweet side, but terrific
