Bacardí 1873 Solera Rum

Tried this as it was offered at the resort where I stayed. Kind of a blend between whiskey and rum. Has the wood and oak flavor of a whiskey, but the sweetness of a rum. Not much for depth or complexity, but not unpleasant.

When served on the rocks, the unpleasant medicinal taste is reduced

Smoky and woody with a distinct medicinal finish. Not very complex

This is the rum that opened the door for me to amber and dark rums. It has a fond place in my heart but my palate has changed over time and I am not a fan anymore.
