Bacardí Reserva Ocho 8 Year

I found this to be completely undrinkable. It's not often I'll throw liquid away, but neat or in cocktails there is a sharp plastic/chemical taste that prevails. I couldn't find a way to not make this taste like burnt plastic dipped in pool water.

Pleasant enough, and very easy to sip neat. Fairly subtle both in the nose and on the palette. Very sweet, with the usual oak and vanilla, plus hints of candy apple, juicy pear, and especially mandarine orange. Good rum for somebody who wants something they can sip neat, but would be put off by a higher-proof spirit or one with more intense flavors. It would probably be overwhelmed in a cocktail or a mixed drink.
