When I first cracked the Lineage, I really didn’t like it. I found it to be very sour and too fruity. I still think it’s a bit sour, but over the two months since I’ve opened the bottle, I’ve developed a strong attachment to it. In fact, I think it’s the fastest I’ve finished a bottle in over a year. I find myself always reaching for it in the cabinet. There’s a craveable quality that I can’t quite pin down.
As many have already said, this is an amazing value at less than $40 a bottle. Actually, it’s one of the best value whiskies I’ve encountered. I’m waffling between a good and great rating here, but will err on the high side because of the price. I expect this will become a permanent addition to my collection.
