Reviewed June 4, 2019 (edited August 23, 2019)I think having tried a few older Armagnacs now I know why they haven't taken off as much. Firstly they taste mostly the same to me even more so than bourbon. Secondly they just don't seem to be as great tasting as I imagined they would be or say a good cognac. Thirdly in relation to the first point they just aren't that interesting or exciting to me. I've still a few to get through so maybe things will change overtime but it seems for me: whiskey, cognac, mezcal seem to be my top three spirits of choice. Tasting notes: bitter sasperella, bourban like cherry profile, heaver and slightly spicey oak.
