Grain forward on the palate. Back end is a ton of wood. Slightly toasted expression, almost like a robust cigar, but more like burnt popcorn. At the price, I would not be a buyer.

First pour with an ice cube, second neat. Both were excellent! Thick, oily, rich and full! Burnt brown sugar, baking spices, figs, oak, butterscotch, toffee, heat is subdued, but definitely there. What a whiskey!
Very complex bourbon. Nose is everchanging. Oaky, then dried fruits. Taste scared me at first with a false sense of heat that never really hit, nutty taste that changed to sweetness as it settled. The aftertaste had a long lingering effect, very satisfying whiskey. Opened up and got a little more tobacco flavor when I added water. I know this is much different from other people, but I have an odd palate. LOL
