This bourbon is definitely on the light and spicy side. I talked to several people who have listed it as their favorite, but honestly I see it more as a valuable variant in a larger collection. It lacks the rich, full smoothness of some other fine bourbons and scotches, but it also complements them well. Highly recommended to try, maybe as part of a flight, definitely as part of any varied collection, maybe paired with a rich dessert.

Basil is like the Doc Marten's of whiskeys. Associated with rebellious folk, clean, simple, well made, and dependable. You can't go wrong with this bourbon. Your nose will detect some spice, yet it's easy to sip as it is sweet and rich on the tongue. The finish is short and warm.
