Sour mash distinctive nose—orange peel overtone and sweet undertones, more floral than sugary. Spicy and burn pack the front of the palette that settles quickly and the echo of a burn in the finish. Starts wet and finishes dry. A good change up to Kentucky sour mashes.
Starts sweet, vanilla, caramel. Some oak and earth. Middle turns leathery, almost scotch like. Backend on the tongue burns a touch with some nice spice. Nothing to harsh. Very nice easy going bourbon.
Aroma: sweet corn, cinnamon, mint and a hint of citrus.
Flavor: sweet tea immediately followed by cinnamon and a touch of mint. Finish is medium, the cinnamon lingers with a touch of oak.
Overall: this is a spice forward bourbon but not overly so, the spice is balanced nicely by the sweetness and subtle hints of mint and citrus
