Reviewed December 3, 2022 (edited February 24, 2023)Nose: Carmel, a little bit of butterscotch. Palate: Carmel, vanilla, corn. Finish: Lingering sweetness with spice, a little chocolate. If you want a good value bourbon with some kick- this is it. Benchmark Full Proof delivers with the strength while staying true to its middle-of-the-road profile. -

Reviewed November 6, 2022 (edited February 24, 2023)Neat is fine, but water opens this whiskey up nicely. A little water brings out big butterscotch, and more brings out cherry and wet oak. Low to moderate finish, but the flavors are excellent if a bit hot and young. Not super complex, but very tasty nonetheless. Nose is much the same as the taste, just a bit more sour and herbacous. -

Reviewed October 30, 2022 (edited February 24, 2023)Higher score due to price and proof. Nose: luxardo cherry and back end faint strawberry, honey…werthers caramel chews Taste: black cherry, cinnamon, butter scotch sweet but lays hot on the tongue Finish: big bold spicy finish. Doesn’t linger, but last on the outside of the tongue. Warms up the inside. Tasted neat with no water. Tasted along with the single barrel, which I felt was a longer finish, but not as good as the 125 proof.22.0 USD per BottleSpec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods -

Reviewed October 24, 2022 (edited November 8, 2022)Blind high proof bourbon sample from @Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington Cherry on the nose, along with ethanol. On the palate caramel, cherry, cinnamon. The finish seems to go a bit funky, but overall pretty good. I think the cherry gives this one away as a BT product. It's gotta be the Benchmark FP, because I don't recall any other BT bourbons on the list. Of course, the WFP got snuck in, so maybe there's something else I'm not considering. Let's see - Benchmark Full Proof it is. This is a great value. Wish this was available around here. Not complex, not super interesting, but easy to drink if you like high proof bourbon. Thanks to BOL for the sample! -

Reviewed October 20, 2022 (edited November 8, 2022)Took awhile for this to make its way over to my part of Ca, but when I saw it on the shelf, I had to pick it up, especially for the price. I had heard some good things about this bottle. 125 proof bourbon from Buffalo Trace at about $20 definitely piqued my interest. Right off the bat, this thing is HOT. Huge ethanol on the nose followed by sweet cherries and vanilla. Palette is very oaky with mild cherry. Slightly bitter, but definitely packs a punch. Pretty one dimensional, not complex at all. Finish is ok, pretty short with the flavor but the high proof does make it slightly linger a bit. Overall, its decent for the price, but don't expect to be blown away by it. Worth a shot, but again, not remarkable and there are certainly other things in the price range that are more flavorful. This one is mostly just hot and one dimensional.22.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed October 14, 2022 (edited April 11, 2023)This is a 4 star when price is factored in. What a butterscotch bomb. Very good given the price. Not complex but honestly good neat, if a little rough around the edges. Would add quite a punch to any cocktail as well. If you see one, pick it up!
