Benchmark Full Proof Bourbon (125 Proof)

Nose: smells vibrant, strong, caramel and little ethanol, smells sweeter with a little nuttiness Palate: burnt caramel, roasted peanut with a nice warm kentucky hug. Not complex and simple. A solid everfay pour but maybe a little too heavy of a kick for that. Turns an everday pour into a slow night sipper being that high ABv so may not go to it often but not bad

For the price, this is great. It’s 125 proof, and you definitely get the heat, and you can taste the youth. Green wood, cinnamon, candied oranges, caramel. It’s a lengthy finish but quite simple.

125 proof. 75% corn, 8% rye, and 17% malted barley. Brown sugar, charred oak, oily, buttered corn, caramel, sugar, cinnamon, Great for price!

Nose is pretty nondescript with very light notes of caramel, vanilla and apple. Also get some sweet corn and ethanol on the nose. Palate is initially sweet with typical bourbon notes of vanilla and caramel. Get a punch of heat from the proof and some bitter oak on the mid-palate. Finish has a peppery, leathery, numbing dryness to it that lingers.
