Reviewed December 23, 2022 (edited March 19, 2023)Nose: fresh apples, vanilla, and caramel Palate: black pepper and coriander at the front, a slight hint of apples in the middle, and then some herbal notes at the back Finish: much longer than expected with the pepper spice lingering as a nice surprise -

Reviewed December 3, 2022 (edited March 11, 2023)Nose: Sweet vanilla frosting or candy corn. Palate: Really sweet vanilla, then some spice, more body compared to the standard Benchmark. Finish: Lingering sweetness and spice, a more pleasing finish vs. standard Benchmark. Very impressed with Benchmark Single Barrel! A really sweet sipper that's probably around the top of the Benchmark line-up. -

Reviewed November 20, 2022 (edited November 27, 2022)N: Sweet corn, spiced cherries, cherry cough syrup, wood and char, toasted nuts, ethanol. P: Vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, baking spice, mild cinnamon, bitter tannins, medicinal notes, cut wood, pencil shavings, peanuts. F: Cinnamon, barrel char and spice, dried herbs, baking spice, lingering bitter tannins, wet paper, wood. I've enjoyed this bottle. I think it slots nicely between Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek 9, and the Evan Williams Single Barrel. It's not really better than any of those, but it's different, and I appreciate that. Price is right. This is the one of the Benchmark line I'd be most likely to pick up again. ____________ Please come join an unofficial Distiller community on Discord: https://discord.gg/VSmCvzAQfH. Reviewed November 15, 2022Honestly not as bad as my experiences with Benchmark No 8. It’s a little strong on the butterscotch and sweetness, but it’s decent for the $. if you like buttery Chardonnay, this is your bourbon. -

Reviewed October 30, 2022 (edited February 24, 2023)Nose: caramel, cherry, ethanol Taste: flat cherry coke. Sweet cherry vanilla, soft subtle cinnamon spice Finish: lingers with a nice warm burn in the finish. Cinnamon candies. For the cost I can recommend and would buy again for $21. Better than Benchmark. Not BT, but for the price and availability, I’d purchase again and share with friends.21.0 USD per BottleSpec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods -

Reviewed October 16, 2022 (edited January 18, 2024)First time trying, might be a little hasty. Caramel everywhere. Nose, taste, and lingers caramel. Missing that bourbon hug that is typical. Maybe some cinnamon sugar cereal if I’m really stretching it. One dimensional, but not bad, just surprised it doesn’t have a little more heat.28.0 USD per Bottle
