Bombay Sapphire Gin (47%)

Easily blended into tonic water and a few drops of lime! Also mixed in a bit of monster at the ass end of the glass to try it out... maybe not for everyone, but I’ll do it again and drink easy! Nice distinct smooth buzz comes quick and so smooth... careful sipping too fast it will catch up with you without fail!

Rating: 10/23 I probably over-penalized this for its sulfur and rubber notes in my previous tasting. The richness is nice and there is plenty of juniper. There is actually an interesting savory character to it, but the sulfur is most certainly still there. It's quite earthy, which might appeal to some, but not to me. This is not something that I would want to have an entire bottle of. It's less herbal, citric, and sweet than Tanqueray is, but perhaps it's also less harsh. Between the two, I would definitely go for the Tanqueray, which has a much more appealing profile in my opinion by a substantial margin. Beefeater also has a cleaner, albeit blander, profile. Of the three, I'd go for Tanqueray first, then Beefeater, then Bombay Sapphire. Sadly, this just isn't all that good.

The nose is pretty bland but a tad savory with perhaps a tad of sulfur and smoke. The palate has a fair amount of sulfur too, but at least it's smooth with a harshness that goes well with the slow-burn spiciness. There are earthy notes and hints of floral fruity notes, as well as some sweetness and pine. It's fairly muddled and the flavors aren't that great. It's dull and ill-executed. What a disappointment. This reminds me of Prarie Organic Gin. There's a variety of flavors, but they're difficult to pick out from the sulfur. This is definitely not as good as Beefeater or Tanqueray. Prarie is more minty and crisp with a pronounced spiciness and distinct flavors. This is comparable in quality, but it's more muddled. I'm sure not enjoying this. It's hard to say whether this or Prarie is better, is I'll give them the same rating.
