This higher proof version of the standard Bombay Sapphire Dry Gin is one for the books. Its aroma is a bit dry and flat, but the taste experience is far more impressive. Juniper and notes of botanicals delicately infused into the spirit with a hint of citrus and floral overtones. Obvious flavors of licorice root and grain prevail as well. An herbaceous quality takes over towards the end and then a surprising release of sweetness as the bite from the alcohol dissipates. When mixed with tonic infused with quinine and a squirt of lime you'll notice the herbal characteristics of the gin more strongly and a juniper-forward experience. I would describe this gin as a classic take on the gin variety and a text-book infusion of standard ingredients expressed delicately yet readily discerned.
