Tasting Notes
"Aromas of various fruits (pear, quince, passionfruit, mango) fill the nose with hints of toasted oak, sweet spice, and woodsy mushrooms. The tropical fruit flavors on the palate take on a more jammy characteristic (think guava jelly, dried papaya, dried pineapple) with notes of toasted pine nuts and sesame. Cutting through the fruitiness is a layer of woodsiness in the back-palate, with flavors akin to those found in maraschino liqueur, denoting the difference between "woodsy" and "woody". With so much going on, a hint of shitake mushroom-like umami sneaks into the finish, underlying this fruity spice flavor jamboree. "
