Too peaty for me

Salty gentle peat supplements the sweetness that is further enriched by a subtle touch of iodine.

Its not bad, but for the money you could just buy Ardbeg.

This is one of my favourite scotch Single malts. Even if it comes from Islay you are not tired of to have a peat. It really delivers complex experience. In your nose the peaty smoke is definitely the first that is dominating in the first second, but right after that you can smell the nice vanilla that comes from the bourbon but else rich in raisin, and you can also smell some orange very slight chocolate. No doubt that this is full bodied characteristic whisky. On your palate the vanilla and the raisin are dominating well rounding with a full oily and peaty tasting notes In the finish the see salt comes making a nice mix with the peat and the vanilla.

A- amber +1, medium viscosit N- light peat and smoke, fruity ( tangerines, orange peels, sultanas) savory ( sweet bacon, white pepper) sweet (honey, vanilla) P- light smoky-peaty-spicy arrrival (it feels watered down), half full and rich, fruity (orange and tangerines) savory ( white pepper, bacon) sweet (honey, vanilla) dry oak F- short finish (not very pleasant), light smoky-fruity-oaky aftertaste C- just finishing this bottle after 9 months opened and will not replace it, I believe there are other good options for entry level peaty whisky out there that you should consider before getting this one IMO
