Breckenridge Port Cask Finish

N: rich, earthy anise and golden raisins. P: dark fruit syrup a s fruit cocktail F: slicy, dry, dried red peppers With water develops a maple syrup character. A little hot at 45% so thats why its not a 4 outta 5.

The port takes center stage both on the nose and tongue, flavor is quite strong. Bitter estringent tannins, a touch of wine sweetness. Usually I love port cask whiskies but the balance here is way off, it's all wine and no whiskey. The result is bitter and overpoweing.
