Reviewed April 29, 2022 (edited August 2, 2022)Barrel # 0182 - Bottled in Bond - 100 Proof On the nose: cherry, banana bread (overripe banana, walnut, baked goods), and oak On the palate: big and chewy mouthfeel with pronounced oak, medicinal cherry, honey, baking spices, black pepper, and pronounced chocolate. On the finish: caramel, chocolate and more pronounced spice and pepper Overall: As a local resident, I am biased, but this is great stuff. That thick, chewy mouthfeel is wonderful. This barrel is definitely big on the darker and spice notes. If you’re in town, give it a try55.0 USD per Bottle -

Reviewed September 11, 2021 (edited August 2, 2022)As a resident of Winston and frequent patron of its whiskey bars, this is something to be damn proud of. Majorly woody with notes of caramel, vanilla, berries, peach and banana. Reminiscent of quality American single malts like Balcones blended with classic bourbon. Sweet, woody and utterly awesome -

Reviewed January 23, 2021 (edited March 25, 2021)Dark golden with a hint of red. Nice slow legs with sticky curtains. Molasses, corn, deep barrel char and black cherry. Tons of corn and barrel contribution front to finish. A dry cornflake sense. Lots of sweetness sticks around with some chocolatey notes and plenty of oak. If anything, it lacks nuance and smooth transitions between the flavors... But it's all there. This really is very good for a first release. Lacks nuance and smooth transitions between phases, but it's delicious.
