Brugal Maestro Reserva
Aged Rum
Brugal // Dominican Republic
Brugal Maestro Reserva is a permanent addition to the brand's portfolio. Crafted by fifth generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana, the rum is made using a proprietary "dark aromatic toasting" technique. After first aging in American oak sherry casks, the rum is dumped and set aside.
Next, the barrels are toasted before being refilled with the rum and further aged. Available in the US in Florida, Texas, and New Jersey as well as duty-free at select US airports beginning February 2024 expanding to other select markets later in the year. (SRP $200).

Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".

Tasting Notes
"The aroma has a moderate intensity of brûléed sugar, vanilla, and warm toasted oak. The body is soft, but not too rich. The rum flavor is allowed to shine through while the finishing barrels provide some depth and a mild spicy bite. There's just a touch of dried fruit around the edges with a mild bittersweet finish. If you're expecting a flavor bomb you'll be disappointed. It's a quiet, reserved serve. Would suggest to sip or add just one large rock."
