Bruxo No. 3 Barril Mezcal
Bruxo is a mezcal project founded in 2010 by a group of friends who are true agave lovers. Each expression is created in a different part of Oaxaca by its own mezcalero or maestro. This one, made from 12 -15 year old barril maguey that is harvested in such remote locations that it has to be transported to the distillery by donkey, is the work of Tio Conejo (that's right, Uncle Rabbit.)
Mezcal JovenA spirit distilled from one or more different varieties of agave. Can only be produced in designated areas within 8 different Mexican states. Must be bottled in México. This is unaged or aged in stainless steel or plastic containers before bottling.
"This is probably the boldest and funkiest of all the Bruxo releases. It's also the smokiest of the bunch, with a rich blast of cooked agave fruit, citrus, mushrooms and notes of buttery, burnt movie-popcorn (in the nicest possible way) and warm spices. There's even a slight yeastiness as it glides into a caramel syrupy finish."
