Bourbonk

Had this a year and a half or so ago, and I don't think I had a strong enough opinion on it at the time.
Last night, while out with friends, I ordered some because they were out of Angel's Envy. I can now honestly say, this is not a favorite. Too spicy and "thin" on the palate. I see it's a "high rye" bourbon, and that would explain it. I don't like those. I prefer sweet, rich and vanilla.
2.5 for not being awful — but just not my thing.
Added 8/31/23: My palate is ever-changing and developing. I'm at a hotel bar tonight, and one of the few bourbons they have available is Bulleit... one of the very first bourbons I tried — so I really had no context to put it up against. Moreover, I used to think I did not like bigh rye bourbons. I was wrong about that. I actually like rye very much, I came to realize. This Bulleit is good. It's spicy and a bit smoky — which I like. I also got some nice "licorice" on the finish tonight. Worth an upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0.
