Bizarre yet interesting; unique combination of butterscotch, cashews, cinnamon, and peat. The latter was not as strong as I would have guessed, overall sweeter than expected.
I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. I typically don’t enjoy the high peat Islay Scotches but this was a kinder/gentler peat smoke only present on the long finish mixed in with some dark chocolate. The nose was sweet with some spice/vanilla. The palate with an initial sweetness followed by some nice spice notes then some peat smoke but again quite mild as compared to a Laguvulin. This scotch seems to have it all. The ABV was respectable 46.3% which was slightly higher than I would have liked for this particular concoction. I can’t wait to try the 25 which should add some smoothness and complexity to an already good drink.
