Benefits from the proof; not enough peat. Does not pack the famous Islay punch. Considered distinctly, a good dram. Just doesn't stand up to the other Islay offerings.

Definitely a sea air quality here, but not quite as strong as Bruichladdich. Some sweetness to balance it out, like a salted toffee peanut and a little dried fruit like raisin or apricot. Not detecting much smoke at all, not like Ardbeg or Laphroaig, or even Teacher's for that matter. Very smooth with a nice long warming finish. Perfect dram in the evening after dinner and are in the mood for a salty but sweet dessert.
