Launched in early 2022, Bushmills 12 Year is a permanent addition to the brand's portfolio. It is a marriage of two single malts — one aged in oloroso sherry butts and the other in ex-bourbon barrels — each aged over 11 years. Then after they are married, the single malt is finished in Marsala wine casks for another 6-9 months to finish maturation.
The whiskey is made from 100% unmalted barley and was triple-distilled in copper pot stills. This new release also launches new packaging for each of the single malts in the portfolio. (SRP $59.

Tasting Notes
"Creamy vanilla pudding and waxy honey lead off on the nose, along with lemon curd, peanuts, tart lingonberries, and champagne vinegar. The palate is soft upfront, and features dark chocolate covered raspberries, walnuts, quince paste, and figs. There's a clear Marsala wine influence, along with oak and cocoa powder, on a short finish. "
