Very standard Irish whiskey. Pear, apple and honey up front. I caught the bread note which I’m relating more to sourdough bread than to a shortbread cookie. Taste follows the nose for me with a quick finish.
The nose hits you with a good amount of ethereal even though it’s 40% abv. A little bit of honey on the nose as well. The palate comes in with youthful grains and primarily vanilla flowers. Ending quickly with caramel finishing things off.
Fruity caramel sweet. Slight dull note that doesn't bother. Jameson, Tullamore, Bushmills, always work. I think they are good enough for everyday Irish.
