First released in 2019 as an experimental batch, Cigar Rye is back with a larger batch for 2023. Like previous releases, this bottling begins with 4 year-old Indiana rye (95% rye, 5% malted barley). Then the whiskey is finished in new American oak barrels that were cold-smoked with aged tobacco leaves grown in Kentucky.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"Floral and herbal aromatics of thyme, cinnamon, and jasmine mix with fresh plum and an almost Irish whiskey-like aroma of pencil shavings. The palate is initially light and fruity but a spark of hot cinnamon kicks in after the second sip, along with a vegetal flavor reminiscent of fresh fennel which adds an element of freshness to the finish. That hot cinnamon, though! Definitely leaves a bit of a tingle in the throat. "
