Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila
Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Cabo Wabo, now owned by Gruppo Campari, is produced by a family of distillers who use traditional roasting, fermenting and distillation methods. This tequila is made from 100% agave grown in the lowlands of Jalisco, and is aged 4 to 6 months in American oak.
Tequila ReposadoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged from 2 months up to a year in barrels no larger than 20,000 L. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Reposado translates to "rested".
"This rather austere, somewhat watery reposado seems to rely entirely on the wood to impart flavor, mostly in the form of spice and sweetness, which completely overshadows its "agave-ness." A touch of citrus is the only discernible fruit."
