Reviewed September 29, 2024Among the winding valleys and mountains of the Center-West of Minas Gerais, the historic city of Pitangui emerges, which was the seventh gold village, the cradle of Brazilian independence and the scene of the cachaça revolt in 1718. Among countless protagonists of the independence uprising of 1822, Father Belchior stands out, priest and personal friend and confidant of Dom Pedro I. It was precisely in an old property that belonged to the priest that Poliana Miranda chose to house the Cachaça Frazão facilities. With great care, the rustic features of the farm were preserved. In 2012, through an initiative by cachaça lovers, the old dream of producing a quality distillate became a reality, preserving the local cachaça culture. The still facilities are large and modern, with the entire production line made of stainless steel, strictly meeting the standards required by legislation. This guarantees the purity of the drink at all stages of production. Cachaça Frazão seeks growth with high investment in technology, but without forgetting its artisanal and historical roots. Since the cachaça revolt in the 18th century, the name Frazão has been present in the villages of the Pitangui region, in Minas Gerais, demonstrating strength and historical importance. Hence the origin of the name of the cachaça, which was conceived as a way of paying homage to this famous family. Cachaça Frazão Ouro Carvalho 670ml is aged for two years in oak barrels.
