Reviewed June 10, 2024In 1960, José Maria Santana, better known as Zé Santana, began producing cachaça in a small mill powered by a water wheel, in Guaraciaba, Minas Gerais. The product was sold and delivered on the back of donkeys by drovers. The fame of the cachaça spread throughout the region and increased demand, causing the mill to be exchanged for a larger one, powered by steam. Five years later, the Guaraciaba brand was registered, and the troop of donkeys was exchanged for a truck. In a short time, it was already one of the favorite drinks in the capital. Today, Cachaça Guaraciaba is managed by Zé Santana's successor and manufactured between June and October, producing 400,000 to 600,000 liters of cachaça per year. Cachaça Guaraciaba Prata 970ml is aged for one year in jequitibá barrels, a traditionally Brazilian wood. Light, has an alcohol content of 40%. It has a light and soft flavor, with balanced acidity. It has a fruity and woody aroma. Pairs well with snacks and broths. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional8.0 USD per BottleMineiro Tropeiro
