Cedar Ridge The QuintEssential American Single Malt

My go-to vatted American single malt. The wide variety of cask finishes that go into the final product mean there’s always something new to discover but there’s a balance that keeps it from being incoherent. None of the flavors are particularly challenging so I expect this to appeal to a variety of palates.

Sweet malt , cherries,cola, peat, and a cinnamon finish

This is fantastic! It reminds me of making cherry pie pockets when camping, but with a brioche bread and some baking spices. There is a decent amount of smoke, red fruits and spice. Totally worth the price.

Dried fruit and nut on the nose with some smoked meat notes somewhere in the background. Taste of baking spices, some smokiness, light caramel with some of that dried fruit. Chewy mouthfeel. Finish sticks with you and has a pleasant middle of the tongue burn. Some citrus notes lingering.
