After the fruits are distilled (in this case, apples and muscadine grapes), the Camp Fire is charcoal-filtered and then aged in ex-Jack Daniels whiskey barrels along with white oak chips.

"The spirits first impression is sooty, but not in a completely unattractive way. Once the immediate smoke dissipates, sweeter flavors of apple fruit, vanilla, and mesquite barbecue show up. This then leads to a finish that is quite sweet showing more of the charcoal’s sappiness and less of its roastedness. A somewhat interesting brandy but ultimately a bit simple and could use a bit more potency. "
