American BrandyProduced in the US, this is usually referring to brandy distilled from grape-based wine. If the producer uses other fruit, it must be stated on the label. If aged under two years in oak, it must state the word "immature" on the label. Beyond that, labels such as VS, VSOP, and XO mean little as the brands themselves dictate what that means to them.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma of the brandy is predominately focused on the wood with caramel, vanilla, peanut brittle, and wood spices coming first. The apple fruit is present, but not before finding those sweet notes. As you taste, you'll experience a sweet sensation followed by a slick mouthfeel. Again, the fruit shows up last, but when it does, it stays with you along with a ring of char smoke and alcohol heat. The brandy would be best served in a cocktail rather than for sipping, which is its goal."
