Clément 10 Year is a rhum agricole which mean it begins as fresh sugarcane juice which is then fermented and distilled under strict guideline from the appellation d'origine contrôlée (or AOC). The AOC is the certification granted to certain French products that ensures many rules are in place to control its quality. This rhum has been aged for a minimum of 10 years in a combination of virgin oak barrels and re-charred bourbon barrels.

Rhum Agricole VieuxRhum distilled from fresh sugarcane juice that has been aged in oak in barrels not to exceed 650 liters. In Martinique, aging requirements are at least 3 years for a VO designation, 4 years for VSOP, 6 for XO, and at least 6 for vintage rhums. Hors d'age is aged between 8-12 years.

"The aroma reveals cocoa, grilled fruit (pineapple & plantain), spice, toasted coconut, and nuts. Tea, oak, vanilla, and dried tropical fruit are also found. The flavors reiterate the scents with a focus on the tea, wood, nuts, and spice. The finish lingers with finespun evidence of the flavors in a chewy, intricate structure. A constantly fascinating rhum."
