The nose starts out too artificial with caramel apples, chemically and super glue, mixed with plum and apricot.
The palate is hot, obviously has notes of apples but is also astringent and tangy.
The finish isn’t too bad, reminiscent of brown butter but then it tapers off quickly. This style of whiskey being made with apples seems like a stretch of a niche, but though it might be good when done well, this product was clearly not that.
Aromas are caramel, vanilla, malt, a little coconut and a hint of plum. Flavors are similar to nose but more intense, with a kind of greasy sweetness. Not bad not great.
