Colkegan Single Malt Whiskey

On the nose a wonderful mesquite smoke. Being from Texas reminds me of campfires and sitting around with friends. A little hint of sweetness and a little of a medicinal hint but not unpleasant. Wonderful nose that brings back great memories. On the pallet, the smoke comes through but not overpowering. Hard to believe the proof is 92%. Smooth but not boring. Would be great with a steak or brisket.

Mesquite bbq flavor. Spicy like a dry rub. Has some hint of a sweetness - honey or brown sugar.

Nose: hint of smoke. Taste: initially sweet. Some burn in the middle. Full bodied, fills the nose, smoky, oaky, piney. Smoky aftertaste lingers for a long time.

Subtle smoke and wood breaks into a meaty mid palate, the finish is soft lightly sweet. Mouth feel is smooth and oily.

Smokey aroma of leather and mesquite. Stone fruits, chocolate, coffee, and a finish of ginger and nutmeg. I like it.
