Combier Liqueur d'Orange

It's not the cheapest triple sec out there, but it's better than most and I would even say probably worth the price tag. Orange blossom is the first thing you get when nosing this, along with some faint lemon zest. Not surprisingly, it is very syrupy, but it's dry, maybe not the Cointreau extent, but close, with citrus peel and a touch of bitterness. The finish is quick, with orange zest and a touch of sweetness. It's not as good as Cointreau, but then again what is. However, for all cocktails that call for triple sec, you could do much worse than this bottle.

2.11.22 Served: Neat, Gibraltar Bottle Open: Same Day Aroma: Proofy and gentle orange. Flavor: Very smooth. Plain orange, not orange peel. Tastes mich lower proof than it is. Less acidic than luxardo. Which aling with its lack of pith makes it more drinkable neat.

I like this stuff. Compared to other orange liqueurs, it’s a bit sharper and more floral, but I generally like the complexity it adds to a drink. I usually find myself preferring it over Ferrand dry curaçao too, which is the fan favorite of the cocktail world. It’s kinda hard to find, but it’s pretty cheap if you can get it. Can’t go wrong

Intense orange taste without a lot of sweetness or coloring. Use half or three quarters of what you normally expect to use in mixes and increase the sweetener as needed.
