Smokier than I'd expected, but in a good way. The smoke is up front and then the typical Irish taste seeps through: fruity and floral. A good balance between sweet and smoky. The smoke lingers a while after a sip. I'd recommend this to any Islay fan as a cheaper alternative.
Nose: smokey, sweet fruits, some spice. Palate: builds up after few seconds, sweetness, spiceyness and smoke arrive one after the other. Finish: first spices and smoke are dominant, then smokiness remains a bit longer, after a while gentle sweetness remains. Wonderful, not too heavily peated although, so can be ideal for people who want some challenge but not heavy peat fans.
