Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye

Nose: Sweet and fruity. Pear, banana, and plum. Light honeyed toffee. Hints of cereal grain and mint. Quite refreshing. Palate: Lots of toasted marshmallow on the front of the palate. Mild oak, cereal grain, and pear unfurl around the tongue. A slight bite from the alcohol pushes through with pepper and mint. Finish: Medium length. Sweet, but slightly tannic and spicy oak. Summary: Very different from what is assumed when seeing "90% Rye". Different can always be good. And this is good.

Fruity bubblegum, pear, sweet, and oaky.

Aromas of butterscotch, lime zest, toasted coconut, baked pear, mint, and vanilla. Full-bodied, viscous mouthfeel. Palate shows lots of black pepper; plus more lime zest, mint, and vanilla; as well as cedar on the finish. Finishes long and dry, with some short-lived heat. 3.50/5.00 – Impressive (neat)

An intense, Rye Whisky by Gimli Distillery in Canada made with 90% Rye. It has an aromatic birth with notes of baking spices, apple, toasted grain & clover honey; while a rich & spicy life adds notes of butterscotch, black pepper, cinnamon, rye, vanilla & oak; that leads to a spicy death of medium length.
