Reviewed February 5, 2022 (edited February 6, 2022)(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Cù Bòcan Whisky Tasting, 03 February 2022. Hosted by GSC and Cù Bòcan’s Global Brand Ambassador, Scott Adamson). Nose: Orchard fruit, plums, berry compote, floral/lavender Palate: Plums, dates, orchard fruit, rum raisins, cinnamon, leather, smoke. More smoke on the palate than the earlier Creation series (1-3) Finish: Long finish. Leather, cigar smoke, currants & raisins. The cognac/brandy and port sweetness comes through strongly on the finish, with a nicely spicy aftertaste. Tawny Port & Cognac Casks. 66% finished in Cognac casks. Spirit is 12y/o, inc 3yrs in finishing casks 34% from Tawny port casks. Spirit fully matured for 10years casks. This dram is floral and fruity and has a really lovely spicy warmth to the fruit. Quite a luxurious tasting whisky, the cognac really shows its influence. Great! Came 2rd out of the five drams (the new make spirit wasn’t included in the vote), with 38% of the final vote for favourite of the night. 100% of those present said they enjoyed the whisky. Creation 2 was my vote for favourite of the tasting, although it was very close between Creations 2 and 4 for favourite, and I have unintentionally given all of the Creation series (1-4) the same score. Any separation between them is really just personal taste or what you fancy at that specific moment - they are all very good, well priced whiskies.60.0 GBP per BottleThe Good Spirits Co.
