Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
Cutty Sark // Scotland
Reports vary, but some say the term "The Real McCoy" became part of our lexicon due to a fellow named Captain William McCoy. A sea captain and notorious smuggler of Cutty Sark into America during Prohibition, McCoy gained a reputation for providing real and unadulterated whisky. The Prohibition Edition is produced in his honor.
Peated BlendA mix of grains and malted barley. From more than one distillery. Dried with peat.
Cask Typeused American barrels
"The nose is reminiscent of winter holiday cookies filled with ginger, lemon, and cinnamon aromas. The whisky hits your tongue slightly sweet and while flavors of pear and citrus come about, the fruit factor is minimal. Peat smoke is present, but muted with the focus staying with the barrel spices and that classic Cutty Sark oily character."
